WET worked with The City-County of Butte-Silver Bow (BSB) to develop, codify, and implement the initial BSB Stormwater Ordinance 10-13 and associated Engineering Standards as well as the BSB Stormwater Ordinance 2020-06 revising the original 10-13 ordinance and updating the Engineering Standards in 2020. Our team researched funding mechanisms within the region and assisted with development of the storm water fees for residential and commercial entities within the county. WET continues to assist with the implementation of the standards via answering questions from local engineers or developers, designing storm water controls, and reviewing applications for adherence to the engineering standards. WET prepared the Phase II MS4 stormwater permit for the City of Butte and the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT). The permit included the preparation of a Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) to address the six minimum control measures, as required in the Phase II regulations. The SWMP also identified stormwater monitoring requirements for specific outfall locations. In addition to assisting BSB with the Stormwater Ordinance, WET has been providing permit compliance assistance to BSB to maintain its MS4 permit with the MDEQ. The permit assistance includes, site inspections, annual reporting, SWMP Team training and outfall sampling.
Since its inception in 2000, WET has grown from a highly specialized group of groundwater professionals into a full-service environmental and engineering consulting firm with office locations in Butte, Anaconda, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Kalispell, Montana and Sheridan, Wyoming.
